It’s always convenient to have a table, bench or shelving in the entryway of your home as a landing strip. I have a bowl to drop my car keys in, a spot for outgoing items and a decorative piece or two that makes me smile. I also like to change my entryway from time to time to reflect my mood or the season. I occasionally add a vase or two with a simple flower arrangement.
Right now I have a huge glass bowl which originally held an indoor wheatgrass garden and later fresh picked mango from the tree right outside. It’s now used to hold outgoing items including mail, reading materials to give away, my phone and sunnies. I have a quirky bowl I bought from La Jolie Maison to drop my keys in. I also have a tall glass vase from CB2 (bought for a song at a moving sale). I filled the vase with German stars for the holiday season (stars were made by Kathy Becklin of Aloha Kristmas and themauiminute). My INSPIRE serves as a constant reminder of how I choose to see the world around me each and every day.
My entryway table is a white parsons desk from West Elm. It also doubles as additional dining seating or a work area. (West Elm also carries a wonderful mini version which is perfect for a laptop desk in a small space or a smaller entryway.)
