One night I was searching Etsy for fashion illustrations and to my delight, Cate Parr’s wonderful watercolors popped up. It was love at first sight.
I’ve since framed and hung three of these colorful gems in my home as the perfect complement to my white walls and modern furniture.
Cate Parr is an illustrator who grew up in England and now resides in the Silverlake neighborhood of Los Angeles. She is inspired by music, theatre and dance. But the pieces I love the most, are those, which are inspired by two of my passions, fashion and vintage photography. This print is her interpretation of a shot from a 2010 Harpers Bazaar editorial featuring one of my favorite musicians, Lily Allen.
This Biba inspired art is part of a series inspired by the iconic London boutique of the 60s and 70s.
Cate Parr sells a range of sizes of unframed prints and watercolor originals ranging in price from ~$35 to ~$300 in her etsy shop Silverridge Studio.
Her work has been featured in Lucky Magazine and her commercial clients include Sanctuary Clothing.
