I’m a huge fan of Project Runway’s season 5 winner, Leanne Marshall, and was so excited to discover her etsy shop, Leanimal. Leanimal is based in Brooklyn and all the pieces are handmade by Leanne and her team.
Her signature aesthetic of clean lined modern shapes with layers of feminine architectural details suit me just fine. This Lisle dress is perfect for my past day jobs, business appropriate for a corporate setting but with a special twist (or two) for a finance professional with a penchant for fashion.
I’d pair these cotton shorts with a wedge sandal and a drapey tissue thin T for weekend brunch with the girls.
For those of you heading down the aisle, Leanimal also has a selection of wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses and accessories.
A selection of vintage inspired sashes are a wonderful accent to your wedding gown but would also be the perfect amount of bling for a holiday dinner (think creme silk blouse with satin pencil skirt or trousers). I’ve even dressed up a tank & beat up faded jeans with the unexpected crystal sash.
I can never resist a good fashion illustration and to have one by Leanne would be a thrill.
Leanne uses many eco friendly or recycled materials. She created an eco friendly line for Bluefly and has shown at fashion weeks in Portland and New York. You can also check out her blog Petals and Waves (the wedding gown on her April 18th post is gorgeous!).
