I love mango season! Mangos are, without a doubt, my favorite fruit. Right now our tree needs to be propped up because there are choke mangos (I’ve been waiting for the opportunity to bus out choke in a post)…
My favorite way to eat a mango brings back memories of sitting on a stool in the kitchen while my daddy cut a mango for me. Simple, cut pieces in a bowl. Sweet, a little soft with a dark color… Jus remember to wash your face when pau.
But now our mango supply is far exceeding what I can eat, which is a lot, because I can nosh on fruit all day. We don’t want any to go waste, so it’s time to make a plan….
The BF was on it from the beginning and has been slicing, dicing and freezing pieces. Great for smoothies!
I’m thinking this weekend, I’ll pull together a mango salsa with this recipe from One Perfect Bite (if you like to cook or just love to eat, you have to check out this cooking blog, her pictures are amazing).
I’m not much of a baker but my mom is an expert. I didn’t know what Loves bread tasted like until I moved away from home as I grew up with home made bread. Maybe I can convince her to bake a little mango bread?
I love to make my own salad dressing and this mango dressing on Epicurious looks super ono.
I used to travel to Hong Kong for business and loved to visit the dessert shops in Causeway Bay. Open late, with a super long menu of all kinds of goodies including yummy sesame or mango puddings.
What’s your favorite way to eat mangos?
