I’m a fan of midcentury modern furniture. Nothing would make me happier than having a home full of these classic pieces. Number one on my wish list? The Eames lounge chair and ottoman.
More specifically, the black leather with walnut. I love the look of the ivory but since this is a lounger, I want to feel free to enjoy a beverage while in Eames bliss so I’ll stick with the black (I tend to be just a wee bit clumsy).
Entirely hand assembled in the US, it’s been in continuous production since its release in 1956. Designed by Charles and Ray Eames for Herman Miller, this iconic chair is also known for its comfort. I love the organic shape, how the molded base curves over the leather.
Right now, there are two obstacles between me and my lounge, space and price. But someday, I just know it, my lounge and I will conquer all and be together as fate intended.
The Eames lounge chair and ottoman can be purchased at Design Within Reach. DWR has a studio at Ala Moana Center and offers delivery to Hawaii.
