I’ve seen Erica Courtney’s gorgeous fine jewelry in magazines and on tv. Based in LA, she is one of the go to jewelers; celebrities have worn her works of art on and off the red carpet. Her pieces are one part edge, another part fairy tale and a generous amount of sparkle. Big colorful gemstones, stacked bangles with delicate diamond charms and romantic designs round out her Drop Dead Gorgeous collection.
The story of how she got to where she is today reads like a novel and is not what you’d expect. In the early 80s, as a young mother, she became embroiled in a custody battle. She decided to run. She spent most of the next decade as a fugitive raising her son under her assumed name, Erica Courtney.
During that time, her business began in Dallas by adding much-desired bling to sunglasses and watches. She later moved to LA and started a sought after line of sterling silver jewelry with engraved love notes. Her designs eventually evolved to the fine gold and platinum gemstone collection pieces she is known for today.
With determination and a creative spirit, she has grown from humble beginnings and moved forward from a troubled past to build a successful multi-million dollar company in an industry which has largely been dominated by men.
Erica is currently on her very first trip to Maui to host a special trunk show at Hildgund Jewelry at the Four Seasons Maui. December 27th to 30th, 8:30 AM to 8:30 PM.
