Aloha! I’m happy to be back on the blog, literally!
I am so grateful I live in Maui Meadows, an area on the base of the mountain, above Wailea. Maui Meadows enjoys cool mountain breezes in the evening, sunny days and a short drive from one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Wailea Beach.
How was your weekend? I took a road trip to Barnes & Noble in Lahaina and found the perfect blank book for my gratitude journal. The Jane Austen quote is very fitting; don’t you think?
Da folks and I also ate some ono grindz from one of my favorite Maui eateries, Star Noodle. It was their first time and I’m so happy they enjoyed themselves. We ate family style and shared the steamed pork buns, the roasted mushrooms, the garlic noodles, the Lahaina fried soup and the fried saimin (pictured).
I did quite a bit of organizing and cleaning including tossing a bunch of hanging files that were falling apart. I replaced the hanging files with file pockets and my files are looking much neater and user friendly. David Allen, the author of Getting Things Done, recommends doing away with hanging files for the most part and I’m inclined to agree. You can read my review of Getting Things Done here.
I watched the White Collar marathon on Cloo this weekend. I did laundry, file cleanup and other house to dos at the same time but yet I still feel guilty about watching tv ALL DAY. There is just something so indulgent about watching hours of tv.
I’ve been struggling with my weight loss efforts. I’m so inconsistent, some days I do great and other days you’ll find me at Burger King with a Whopper Jr meal. I’m not sure why this time is so difficult for me but I’m not giving up. I do love whole natural foods and enjoy exercising so it is a mystery to me why I’m lacking motivation. I was healthy and in shape a mere two years ago and am now overweight, in the worst cardio shape of my life and am starting to experience back, hip and knee pain as a result. I know what I have to do but feel overwhelmed at times. It is also very difficult not to beat myself up for letting things go so awry. I am down by three measly pounds but hey I’ll take it because it is a hell of a lot better than being up by three pounds.
I didn’t write my roundup of my photography classes yet as I needed a bit of a bloggy break this week but I’m ready and raring to go again!
Have an awesome week everyone and I would love to hear about your weekend.
