At 4 PM today (Hawaii time, of course) I will be co-hosting my very first Poshmark party. I never thought I could be so jazzed up about a virtual party but here I am, chomping at the bit. I can’t wait to share all my date night picks with my fellow poshers.
Poshmark has three parties a day, 6 AM, 9 AM and 4PM (Hawaii time). The evening party (afternoon for Hawaii) is special because Poshmark members are invited to co-host with Poshmark staffers and share their “picks”. The theme is also a style inspired versus the brand or category themes during the day parties. While everyone can share items from their closet into the main party feed, the host picks feed is typically a gorgeous visual display of picks curated by the party hosts.
If you are new to Poshmark, attending a party is the perfect way to network with your fellow poshers, share your items when a vast amount of poshers are online, share items from your favorite poshers’ closets and find more closets you love to follow. Any item listings you share during parties will show in the main feed. There are also feeds for NWT (new with tags) and first look (items not shared to a prior party) in addition to the main and host picks feed. Items shared to the main feed will show in the NWT or first look feeds automatically, if applicable.
The evening party main feed has been reaching close to 200,000 listings each night and is attended by thousands of fashion loving poshers. I have found some of my now favorite closets to follow by checking out the party hosts and also scanning the different feeds, particularly the host picks feed. If you can’t attend a party, you can always scroll through the feeds at anytime on the app but sharing is only possible during the party.
Poshmark notifies you of the upcoming parties for the next day via your newsfeed. The “invite” is automated and sent to all poshers from a posh staffer, Kate (@katef). It’s part of the app, you can’t turn it off, but you don’t need to reply to any invite to attend or decline. You can just pop in the ongoing party at anytime. By the way, Kate’s closets is one of my favorites. Her style is a perfect casual mix of rock chick and boho. She also has a blog, Undeniable Style.
If you’re interested in any of the pieces in the tear sheet above, the items can be found in one of the co-hosts’ closet for tonight’s party:
Barbara (@nugget_love) – drool inducing outerwear and statement jewelry pieces with an edge
Lizz (@diordiva) – hot luxury shoes and contemporary ready to wear
Jennifer (@philliesphan) – premium denim and perfect easy feminine pieces
Laura (@lchouser) – fantastic prints and classic casual pieces at reasonable prices
You can find the daisy necklace, taupe bow clutch, black studded clutch and black blazer in my closet.
I wanted to also say thank you to the talented Chanda (@cmhowald) for making the tear sheet for us. She has amazing dresses, jewelry and more listed. She also accompanies many of her listings with outfit ideas pulling together her piece with other pieces available in fellow posher closets.
For my regular blog readers, I’ve been MIA for awhile but I’m back! I’ve got three posts for next week in da slow cooker. I’m in much better health and coming out of a big change in my personal life. I miss writing, taking photos and chatting with all of you. I’m not turning into a fashion blog either. Same concept, same blogger but re-inspired after a little break.
