A Holiday Pop-Up…

Yup, that’s right, I’m posting about the holidays before we’ve even put the turkey and pumpkin crunch in the oven. I’ve been mulling over how to kick-off the season on the blog so I jumped for joy when I spotted the 10-Year Anniversary Commemorative Pop-Up by Robert Sabuda for MOMA.  It’s the perfect thing to get us in the holiday spirit!

I’ve always loved pop-up cards and this one is modern, sweet, colorful and oversized.  It comes with a stand so that you can display on a tabletop.  Robert Sabuda is a children’s book creator based in New York who is celebrating ten years of collaboration with MOMA.  You can visit his site to learn more about his work and for instructions on how to diy some of your own pop-up creations.

I love this! I would just have to keep it away from my tactile boys. :)

Thank you! I like a clean look too :-) Decided to extend my being minimal into my blog. Less to maintain.

That is so cool. I wouldn’t mind getting a pop up card for christmas, but then again, I would feel guilty throwing it away. I would feel like I would have to keep it forever, because it’s so beautiful.

Love the new layout of your blog. Very clean.

I wouldn’t throw it away, just carefully close it up and save it to use as a decoration the next year.

Sanrio makes some great popups by the way for holiday hello kitty. I saw them last year, hope they have them again this year.

Thanks for the kind words about the layout!

I love popup books as well. I’ve kept popup cards, but they sit in a drawer. I should bring them out to decorate.

I actually prefer table top holiday stuff. I can take or leave a tree but putting cute stuff on a table is a must.

I love pop up cards! That’s a purty one for display! In Taiwan, pop up cards are everywhere and so well-done. Not so much in the states.

I never saw any in Hong Kong, would love to see some of the ones from Taiwan. I saw great Sanrio ones last year from Japan, very intricate.

LOVE those. I love pop-ups of any kind, always gravitate to them when we are in the kids’ section of the library!
