“Palm trees, ocean breeze, salty air, sun kissed hair. That endless summer, take me there.” Unknown
This quote describes how I feel about Hawaii nei. As I lie on the beach gazing up at the palm trees swaying in the wind, I am eternally grateful that I can wear a bikini and submerge myself in the Pacific while gazing up at the beautiful palms in any season.
Did you join me in this week’s photo challenge? Please add your link by clicking on the cute froggie button at the bottom of this post. It will take a short bit for your thumbnail to appear. Make sure to copy and paste the url for your peaceful post (not your home page) so our readers can go directly to this week’s post. You can add your link until Tuesday, September 18th, 2012. Remember to hop on over to other participants’ links too (this is a party y’all). Also check out next week’s prompt at the bottom of the post.
Mahalo Nui Loa for taking the time to read this post and for joining my very first humble linky party!
Da 411 on Just Another Photo Challenge
Each Wednesday I’ll post a prompt for the upcoming week. On the following hump day, I’ll post my pic and give you an opportunity to post a link up to your blog. Here’s the short list of the guidelines if you’d like to join me and party hardy photog style.
- Shoot with anything you desire that has a camera. This can be your phone, instax, holga, dslr…whatever turns you on. They say the best camera is the one that you have with you. I’m going to use my dslr but also plan to play with iphoneography too.
- The prompt is a suggestion that is 100% open to interpretation.
- Post your link here to the specific post page to make it easy for everyone hopping over to your blog.
- Hop on over and check out your fellow participants’ posts.
- Your post does not have to be titled just another photo challenge (unless you want it to be). If your image inspires you to write about something you love, been meaning to blog about or that’s on your mind, go with it. If you’d like to do an almost wordless Wednesday, feel free. It’s up to you my friend.
- Check out next week’s prompt and get ready, get set….shoot!
The prompt for next week is:
Pau Hana
Pau hana means quitting time or after work. Do you spend your pau hana talking a walk, sipping a cocktail or channeling Julia Child in the kitchen? Share your pau hana or others enjoying their pau hana with us.

Beautiful pic. I posted my WW pic today of the 9/11 Memorial. A wonderful place for peace and remembrance.
Thanks Jen…I’ll be hopping over to your during my lunch break blog hopping.
I’m so happy you decided to join us. I still remember waking up that morning, closing down our office and stores. I felt some of the news outlet did very little to remind us of that day yesterday.
I love the angle of the photo, the blue sky, and the contrast with the palm leaves. Palm trees in the breeze, feet in the sand and warm water, certainly convey peaceful to me! My link is up there
. Can’t wait to check out others. The only suggestion for you is maybe crop out/remove some of the leaves on the border so that the middle tree remains the focus.
Omg Lisa! So frustrating. When I first loaded my pic last night I saw those leaves on the bottom so I recropped, deleted my original from wordpress and from my laptop and loaded again. But wordpress kept grabbing the original image with that piece of leaves on the bottom (even though the image had been deleted everywhere). The last load looked ok in the preview but maybe I didn’t save or something. Tried to load again this morning and it grabbed the same old pic. So, I renamed the file something diff and now the cropped the version is there. This has happened before so I’m glad I figured out what to do that is a bit more expedient, change the filename. Usually I restart my computer with no image in the draft post.
Long story short, I totally agree
My eyes were drawn to that piece of leaves at the bottom once it was up in wordpress. Thanks and I can’t wait to check out your post. I’ll be blog hopping on my lunch break. Have a great day.
Sorry about all the computer trouble. Sometimes when I upload a new version of a photo onto wordpress database, I have to physically “refresh” the screen since (maybe) cookies on my computer “saves” the old version. Good luck! And great link up! I love linking up with real ppl, not just a thousand ppl trying to get noticed
.
Oops. I think I did something wrong! But, couldn’t figure out how to edit it! Lol. Next week I’ll do better!
Did you maybe link to your admin page? If you click on your post heading and then grab that post url, that’ll work. ps the thumbnail and name of your blog take awhile to appear.
I’ll go ahead and delete yours so you can re-link.
I was actually able to modify your link so I think it should be ok shortly. It looked like you may have been in a post preview mode when you grabbed your url since the link had “admin” in the name.
Hi Tania, Yes you were right I think this early a.m. I was in al hurry and in the “admin” phase. Thanks for fixing it for me! Loved your photo above, just want to be looking up at that palm tree myself!
Thanks for the link up, Tania!
Love the idea and today’s theme. Beautiful photo too : )
Along with the ocean, coconut trees are the first things I miss when I leave the islands. Their iconic silhouettes are the first thing that makes me feel at home when I come back. Love!
I hope I can keep up with this! I traditionally suck at photo challenges because I was always so lazy to take my SD card out of my camera and stick it in the computer, but with my iPhone, I no longer have that excuse so I should be a more active participant
I already have next weeks’ pic in mind so that’s a good sign!
Gosh, trying to blog from my iPad is horrible!!! I finally fixed my link.
Curious…were you using the wordpress app or trying directly in Safari. I’ve played with the wordpress app a bit but never with photos.
Enjoy your vacay Gwen!
